Character Name: Ignition (Real name: Kelly Donovan)

Powers/Abilites/Skill, if Any: Ignition's abilities are a combination of fire and super speed. She has managed to ignite her body without running, but has yet to run at a very high speed without her body igniting. She's managed to float once (heat
rises) as an auto-reflex to falling, but this is an unreliable talent at best. With Ignition's ability to move at a highly accelerated speed comes the talent for speed reading, and very quick mental processes. As a result, she learns new things very quickly, even if she might not remember it all later. Her memory is very good, but not perfect.

In terms of fighting ability, Ignition fights on about the level of a blue belt martial artist - capable, but not a master (simply put, she knows how and where to hit). As for other abilities, she's become a decent cook out of necessity. Living on your own and loving to eat will do that.

Age: 16

Physical description: Ignition's hair is brown, and worn in a short, sporty haircut that just touches her shoulders. Her eyes are a very light hazel color. She's rather small, at 5'1" and 100 pounds, including muscle tone. Her build is neither curvacious nor devoid of feminine curves. Generally, she looks alert, but not terribly welcoming. She has exactly two outfits made of TPS - one is simply a sports bra, short shorts, and ankle-high boots. The other is much more modest - it covers her entire body except for her head, neck, hands, and some slits along the arms and legs to let flames escape. It also has two utility belts for storing supplies.

Personality: Ignition is a practical person that hates to waste her time. She is a motivated problem solver. These characteristics, the social skills she occasionally chooses to employ and her inherent distrust of others have given her a good sense for business.

Ignition is much friendlier towards acquaintances and people she does business with than she is with most others, particularly people she actually likes. She believes it's dangerous for someone to be friends with her at the moment, and that she's doing them a favour by making herself undesirable as a friend. She knows that she would do a lot to help the people who matter most to her and doesn't want the hassle or potential weakness. She'll shut people out by demonstrating caustic wit, avoiding personal conversations and being cruelly blunt.

Weaknesses: Ignition's powers cause her to have an extremely high metabolic rate. She eats roughly the amount of three very hungry 250 pound football players every meal, and that's just on an average day. If she runs at more than 60mph, her body ignites whether she wants it to or not. This is a pain in the neck when she doesn't want to attract attention and it's exceptionally damaging to her warddrobe if she's wearing anything else but clothing made of the extremely pricy material, TPS (Thermal Protection System). She's also scared of heights.

History: Ignition grew up in a comfortable and normal upper middle class home, raised by her science professor father and prosecution lawyer mother. When her powers first manifested, her parents were shocked and a little afraid, but they were supportive in the end and sought out ways they could help their daughter. They took out a large private loan and purchased some expensive experimental fabric that was meant to withstand a high speed re-entry into the earth's atmosphere. They were only able to purchase a small amount, as it was a government run project and very pricy.

Unfortunately, the people that they borrowed money off of were criminals, and were aggressively impatient about getting their money back. They made threats of blackmail, and physical threats as well, until they broke into the home and decided to collect by force. Ignition fought off the assailants, had a huge verbal fight with her parents, and ran away. She fast-tracked through high school and acquired herself a fake ID while she was at it. Paying off her parents' loan became a priority and she went about acquiring money to pay off the loan, largely illegally.

Friends of hers tried to persuade her to come back to her parents' home and get out of her present lifestyle, only to be rewarded with nasty words and instructions to keep away 'or else'. Since then, Ignition has been living on her own, keeping herself busy with learning and taking all sorts of work. In particular, she's acquired a good reputation in the past year for being the fastest in the small transport business.

Recently, she met Brother Blood. He offered her a place at the HIVE Academy, with the promise of being put in touch with more high rolling clients upon her graduation. She was also given a more modest outfit made of TPS (the special material that wouldn't ignite) to secure her interest.
